It's been a busy old week and loads of fun, the children have really enjoyed investigating magnetism and electricity as well as all of their work in English, Maths and Gaeilge. Have a look at all of our work below!

During our discussions about magnetism, we discovered that a compass will always point toward North. Does this mean that the Earth is a magnet? Below is some information that might help you figure out why the Earth might be 'magnetic'. Be careful, some of the information might not be useful at all! Can you find the information you need?
This week we've begun to explore the world of magnetism and electricity. We've looked at what we know... 'Electricity and water do not mix' 'Magnets stick to metal' and what we want to know... 'How do magnets 'stick'? How to magnets work? How does electricity work?' Here is a quick snap shot of everyone exploring in class! Hopefully, over the next couple of weeks we might be able to learn the skills we need to find out the answers to our questions!
Here are our Tricky Words songs that we like to sing and dance to in the class! We thought you might like to sing along too! The Enormous Crocodile grinned, showing hundreds of sharp white teeth. "For my lunch today," he said, "I would like a nice juicy little child."
Its been a fabulous week and really exciting too as we started our first Aistear topic in Rang aHaon.
We've been looking at Roald Dahl, at his books, his life and his job of being an author. As a class we read George's Marvellous Medicine, which made us laugh out loud! The granny in the book is so grumpy! We wrote fact files about Roald Dahl in Literacy and then in Aistear we made our own versions of George's Marvellous Medicine, built Roald Dahl's writing shed out of Lego, acted out the story in the Role Play area and made posters of some of Roald Dahl's most inspirational (and funny) quotes. |
